After passing SSLC, he learned Kathakali from Kerala Kalamandalam for 8 years and passed PG with first class. Apart from his tudy in Kalamandalam he continued learning Kathakali for 5 years. Now he is working in R.L.V. College, Thripunithura as the Head of the Department of Kathakali. Has practiced Kathakali under Eramalloor Balakrishna Menon, Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair, Kalamandalam Padmanabhan Nair, Kalamandalam Gopi and Kalamandalam Vijayan.
